K2 Partnering Solutions PTE. LTD. is seeking a Junior Red Hat Linux Systems Engineer to perform day-to-day RHEL operations, platform maintenance, and deployment tasks under guidance from a Senior Systems Engineer.

You will conduct patching, hardening, post-upgrade validation, automate provisioning, and support during scheduled maintenance windows across multiple environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in Linux systems administration or IT infrastructure operations.
• RHCSA preferred, or commitment to obtain certification within agreed timeframe post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote standby support for RHEL patching and hardening cycles across SIT, UAT, DR, and Production environments (including night and weekend maintenance sessions).
• Perform pre-patch health checks, backup verifications, package updates, post-change service validation, and formal audit evidence capture.
• Execute and test automation scripts/playbooks for server provisioning, in‑place upgrades, and CIS hardening; log and elevate execution failures.
• Assist with golden image maintenance, security agent installations, configuration verification, and technical documentation updates.
• Research security alerts, map affected packages/versions against the active RHEL estate, document findings, and complete remediation tasks.
• Maintain precise service request, incident, change, and inventory records; elevate risks or deviations to Senior Engineer.

As a Junior Red Hat Linux Systems Engineer, you will execute essential day-to-day RHEL operational activities, platform maintenance, and deployment tasks under the guidance of the Senior Systems Engineer. This hands‑on role focuses on executing patching and hardening procedures, post-upgrade validation, automation testing, and providing critical standby support during scheduled maintenance windows.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote standby support for RHEL patching and hardening cycles across SIT, UAT, DR, and Production environments (including night and weekend maintenance sessions).

• Perform pre-patch health checks, backup verifications, package updates, post-change service validation, and formal audit evidence capture.

• Execute and test approved automation scripts/playbooks for server provisioning, in‑place upgrades (IPUG), and CIS hardening; log and elevate execution failures promptly.

• Assist with golden image maintenance, security agent installations, configuration verification, and technical documentation updates.

• Research assigned security alerts, map affected packages/versions against the active RHEL estate, document findings, and complete assigned remediation tasks.

• Maintain precise service request, incident, change, and inventory records. Promptly elevate technical risks, failed pre-checks, or procedure deviations to the Senior Engineer.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2-4 years of experience in Linux systems administration or IT infrastructure operations.

• Solid foundational knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9 administration, including user/group management, permissions, yum/dnf package management, services, LVM, and basic networking.

• Basic scripting capabilities using Bash, Python, or Ansible.

• Understanding of patching practices, vulnerability remediation, OS hardening concepts, and formal change-management processes.

• RHCSA preferred, or a commitment to obtain certification within an agreed timeframe post-hire.
