Job summary

OPTIMUM SOLUTIONS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Python developer to join our applications team. You will develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based software, build and consume REST APIs, and collaborate with senior developers, analysts, and testers to deliver robust solutions.

The role emphasizes Agile/Scrum practices, Git version control, and CI/CD. You will work with SQL databases, write queries, perform debugging, and translate business requirements into technical design

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development experience (min 6 months).
• Strong Python concepts, OOP, data structures, and exception handling.
• Basic experience with REST APIs/JSON/HTTP.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Git/version control experience.
• Basic understanding of unit testing and debugging.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Python.


• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable Python code following development standards.


• Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.


• Work with SQL databases to write queries, stored procedures, and perform data-related operations.


• Participate in application development, debugging, unit testing, and defect fixing.


• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.


• Collaborate with senior developers, business analysts, testers, and other project teams.


• Support application deployment, troubleshooting, and post-production issues.


• Follow Agile/Scrum, Git, CI/CD, and software development best practices.

Required Skills

• Minimum 6 months of hands-on development experience in Python.


• Good understanding of Python programming concepts, OOP, data structures, and exception handling.


• Basic experience with REST APIs / JSON / HTTP.


• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.


• Hands-on experience with Git/version control.


• Basic understanding of unit testing and debugging.


• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Banking, Fintech, Insurance, or other financial services domain.


• Exposure to Django, Flask, or FastAPI.


• Knowledge of Pandas / NumPy is an added advantage.


• Exposure to Linux/Unix, Docker, CI/CD, or cloud platforms is a plus.


• Familiarity with financial applications, payments, banking systems, or insurance platforms will be advantageous.
