Job summary

PEOPLE PROFILERS (SERVICES) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Production Process Engineer in Tuas to monitor and optimize the plastics compounding line.

You will establish processing conditions, drive efficiency gains, and develop new methods based on product application and formulation. The role requires coordinating with Manufacturing and Technology to resolve process issues, conducting plant trials, and leading continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and rejects.

Qualifications

• Degree in polymers science, material science or related discipline.
• 6-Sigma Green Belt certification is required.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement with RCA and lean tools.
• Good communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the existing production process with focus on problematic products.
• Establish processing conditions for equipment and improve plastics compounding efficiency.
• Develop new production methods based on application and formulation.
• Resolve production issues by integrating with Manufacturing and Technology.
• Conduct plant trials to qualify new processes and scale up to production.
• Lead projects to improve rates and standardize processes; investigate customer complaints related to LIC200.
• Improve overall production quality and participate in plant-wide quality initiatives.
• Help set work goals and performance standards to reduce rejects and downtime.
• Coordinate with related parties on new product process transfers from other plants.

Job description

Work Location: Tuas; Budget $3500-$4500

Responsibilities

• Monitor the existing production process; particular attention is placed on products with history of problems.
• Responsible for establishing processing conditions for existing production equipment and improving production efficiency for plastics compounding.
• Develop new production process methods based on their application and formulation.
• Resolve production problems involving process procedures by effectively integrating with Manufacturing and Technology.
• Conduct plant trials to qualify new process and scale up sample process to production units.
• Work on projects to improve rates and setup standard formats for different process. To involve in investigation of the customer complaints related to the process issue and LIC200 related.
• Work on improving overall production quality and participate in plant wide quality endeavors.
• Assist in establishing specific work goals and performance standards in order to reduce reject rate and minimize downtime.
• Involve and communicate with related parties in new product process transfer from other plant.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by direct Supervisor.

Requirements

• Degree in Polymers Sciences, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Words and Powerpoint.
• Certified with 6-Sigma Green Belt.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, proficient in RCA, LSW and other lean tools.
• Good communication & interpersonal skills
• Possess sense of job urgency & good time management skills
• Able to work in fast paced environment
• Good report writing skills
