We are seeking L1 Network Engineers (maker) to support day-to-day network implementation and operations. The role focuses on executing pre-defined implementation scripts, supporting L3 engineers on-site at the data center when required, and working collaboratively to resolve network-related alarms and tickets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform network implementation tasks based on scripts and procedures provided by L3 Network Engineers.
- Work schedule: 10pm to 6am
- Escort and support L3 engineers during on-site data center changes and activities.
- Monitor network alarms and clear tickets in coordination with L3 engineers.
- Escalate circuit and connectivity issues to Telco providers and follow up on resolution.
- Provide hands-on assistance in physical installations (e.g., cabling, device power-up, console access) when required.
- Maintain implementation records and update documentation as instructed.
- Support routine checks and operational tasks to ensure network health and availability.
Skillsets Requirement:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure or network support roles.
- Basic understanding of network concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, switching).
- Willingness to work night job as network changes required to be after office hours.
- Able to travel to data centres
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Certifications like CCNA or basic Firewall certifications (Checkpoint, Palo Alto)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in supporting enterprise networks in data center environments.
- Familiar with logging into and navigating Access Controllers (ACs) for performing configurations, monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Arista, or equivalent).
