Job summary

Kpler is seeking a Junior Market Analyst in the Gas & LNG market operations team in Singapore. You will safeguard LNG cargo and bunkering data, work with tech and partnerships to add value to our product suite, and learn about energy and maritime markets while developing client-facing demos.

The role requires technical data manipulation skills, a willingness to learn, and strong English communication to present insights to internal teams and external clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or Data Analytics.
• Up to 2 years of professional analytical experience in market analysis or data operations.
• Strong data handling capabilities with Excel and basic SQL/Python skills.
• Clear written and spoken English and ability to present insights to clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cargo data integrity by monitoring LNG and MarineTraffic data daily.
• Expand the LNG bunkering dataset and scale market intelligence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to diagnose data issues and improve workflows.
• Track global LNG market trends, regulatory developments, and arbitrage signals.

As a Junior Market Analyst in the Gas & LNG market operations team, you will be responsible for safeguarding the precision and integrity of our LNG cargo and LNG bunkering data, working closely with our tech teams and partnership teams to further add value to our product suite. The role requires some technical skills manipulating datasets, a willingness to learn about the energy and/or maritime sectors, and strong communication skills to demo the product to clients and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cargo data integrity: Monitor the Kpler LNG and MarineTraffic platforms daily to ensure maximum accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across cargo-level tracking and flows.
• Expand the LNG bunkering dataset: Maintain, structure, and scale our comprehensive market intelligence on global LNG bunkering activity and emerging alternative fuels.
• Partner with product & engineering: Collaborate with technical and data teams to diagnose dataset anomalies, refine data workflows, and enhance the features of Kpler’s product suite.
• Track global market trends: Follow key regulatory and commercial developments in LNG trade flows, maintaining an active perspective on supply, demand, and regional arbitrage.
• Drive commercial enablement: Partner with global sales and customer success teams to deliver impactful product demonstrations and support prospective and existing client inquiries.
• Support cross-functional intelligence: Work closely with the Gas & Power News, Research, and Market Operations teams to deliver timely, synchronized market context.

Experience & Background

• Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, or Data Analytics).
• Up to 2 years of professional analytical experience in a market analysis, data operations, or business intelligence role.
• Solid technical proficiency with data manipulation tools, including advanced Excel and working knowledge of SQL, Python, or VBA.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate large, unstructured, or disparate datasets with rigorous attention to detail and logical problem-solving.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the confidence to present insights to internal teams and external clients.

Nice to have

• Previous exposure to or understanding of LNG, natural gas, shipping, or broader maritime and commodity markets.
• Experience working collaboratively in an international, asynchronous team environment across multiple time zones.
