Job summary

AMSPEC TESTING SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to conduct oil and gas / chemical sample testing using prescribed standard methods.

You will interpret results, maintain meticulous records, and prepare comprehensive reports while ensuring adherence to safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Science or Chemistry, is comfortable with chemicals and petrochemicals, and can work under pressure with strong

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in science, chemistry, or related field.
  • Experience in OGC industry or lab environment is advantageous.
  • Able to follow ASTM standards and procedures.
  • Comfortable with chemicals, petrochemical and petroleum products.
  • Able to differentiate colours by sight.
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Willing to learn GLP and maintain housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of oil and gas / chemical samples using prescribed standard test methods.
  • Interpret and report test results accurately and in a timely manner based on established test methods.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all analyses performed.
  • Complete laboratory reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on laboratory safety practices, reporting techniques, and analytical methods.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Rotate to 12-hour shifts after probation (as required).

  • Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of oil and gas / chemical (OGC) samples using prescribed standard test methods, techniques, and instruments.
  • Interpret and report test results accurately and in a timely manner based on established test methods.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all analyses performed.
  • Complete laboratory reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep updated on laboratory safety practices, reporting techniques, and analytical methods.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Relevant work experience in the OGC industry or a laboratory environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand and follow ASTM standards and procedures.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, petrochemical, and petroleum products.
  • Able to accurately differentiate colours by sight.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks with different deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask and work independently as well as in a team.
  • Positive attitude and good teamwork.
  • Willing to learn and adapt to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Proactive in maintaining housekeeping standards before and after work.
  • Dependable and reliable, with good attendance and commitment to work.
  • Required to work a 12-hour rotating shift upon confirmation after the 3-month probation period.

Training will be provided for suitable candidates without prior experience.
