What you can expect

As a Junior DevOps Engineer/System Administrator at NetVirta, you will be an integral part of our DevOps team, working closely with our existing DevOps Engineers to support our development teams and infrastructure.

You’ll be exposed to a range of DevOps technologies, supporting our R&D teams, improving the reliability of our cloud platforms, and developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. You will implement modern best practices, improve development cycle times, and provide quick and relevant feedback to the development team. You are part of the team that enhances the company's productivity significantly.

Responsibilities

• Manage incidents and requests across 1st and 2nd line support
• Deploy new software and updates for R&D teams
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters, Ubuntu servers, and databases
• Monitor and apply security patches and software updates
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of products with IT systems
• Develop and improve software delivery pipelines to reduce deployment times

Required Skills & Experience

• Technology-focused certifications or experience
• Proficient with Linux environments
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git, SVN, or Perforce
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, Java, Kotlin, or Swift
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Traits

• Experience with Ubuntu server and client machines
• Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Terraform
• Experience with automation, scripting, testing, and documentation
• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies like K8s or Docker Swarm
• Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Motivated self-starter, quick learner, able to work independently
• Up-to-date with industry trends
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative mindset

Good-to-Have

• Experience with CI tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket, CircleCI
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience with package managers like npm, Carthage, Conan, Maven
• Knowledge of additional programming languages beyond your specialization
• Familiarity with the modern Application Delivery Lifecycle
