Job summary

National University Hospital is seeking a Junior Medical Technologist to support lung function and allergy testing services. You will perform pulmonary function and allergen tests, coordinate with clinicians, and help ensure accurate results and efficient lab operations.

The role requires a Diploma in Medical Science or Biotechnology, 2–3 years of clinical service experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Applicants should be keen to work with children in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Science/Biotechnology required.
• 2–3 years of related clinical service experience preferred.
• Good computer literacy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-operate with doctors and healthcare providers to deliver services to patients.
• Ensure all procedures for patients are performed well and lab operations run smoothly.
• Perform pulmonary function tests (spirometry, NIOX-ENO, static lung volumes, etc.) and sweat testing as requested.
• Perform allergy tests as requested by clinicians.
• Monitor and optimise utilisation of procedure rooms.
• Record results and ensure reports are vetted by the doctor-in-charge within the timeframe.
• Coordinate with departments/clinics/wards on urgent test requests.
• Maintain and document calibration and replacement of lab equipment and inventories.
• Procure skin prick extracts, lancets and other equipment in a timely manner.
• Supervise and coach staff to deliver excellent patient care.
• Develop, implement and evaluate quality standards on clinical procedures.
• Manage patient feedback and service recovery.
