About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our dynamic Procurement team. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, you will play a crucial role in supporting our local purchasing activities and providing valuable insights through data analysis and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong analytical mindset and a desire to develop their procurement skills within a vibrant and exciting industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Local Purchasing & Supplier Management:
    • Support the Head of Procurement in managing relationships with local suppliers
    • Obtain quotations and negotiate terms with suppliers under the guidance of the Head of Procurement.
    • Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and payment issues with local suppliers.
    • Maintain accurate supplier records and documentation.
  • Purchase Analysis & Reporting:
    • Gather and compile data related to purchasing activities, such as spending analysis, supplier performance, and price trends.
    • Assist in the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports on key procurement metrics.
    • Support the Head of Procurement in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Administrative & General Support:
    • Maintain organized filing systems for procurement documents, both physical and digital.
    • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in procurement.
    • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
    • Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Procurement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (essential for data analysis and reporting).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • A genuine interest in the wine industry.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with ERP systems (especially NetSuite).
  • WSET Level 2
