Junior Animal Feed Assistant - Singapore Zoo/Rainforest Wild Asia

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renowned wildlife parks connecting visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, integrating five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces, and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Work closely with Animal Feed Assistant and Senior Animal Feed Assistant in preparing food for animals, delivering it to designated locations, receiving ordered food, performing food quality checks, and providing feedback to vendors when needed. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare diets formulated by the Wildlife Nutritionist and deliver to designated locations.
  • Ensure diets are precisely prepared based on correct items, weights, and quantities as per diet sheets.
  • Deliver food to correct locations and ship in appropriate environments.
  • Follow all SOPs during food preparation and delivery, including wearing PPE and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Practice good kitchen hygiene to minimize quality risks.
  • Perform proper receiving procedures for fresh food items such as produce.
  • Understand quality check procedures and standards; reject food that does not meet requirements or poses quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to vendors on issues found and report to supervisors as necessary.

Work closely with the Wildlife Nutrition Centre and Driver to ensure driving safety, vehicle maintenance, and timely food delivery and collection. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure safety of personnel and goods in vehicles, comply with traffic rules.
  • Monitor vehicle conditions, ensure they are ready-to-drive, and report issues.
  • Operate vehicles for loading and unloading goods.
  • Operate tailgate or crane for goods handling.
  • Obtain necessary operating licenses for vehicle tasks.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum GCE 'N' levels or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25kg).
  • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors when required.
  • Preference for applicants with a valid Class 3 driving license.
