Job Scope:
Bookkeeping & Financial Records:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB).
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing and expense tracking.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Handle monthly payroll processing, including CPF contributions, tax deductions (IR8A), and compliance with Singapore’s labor laws.
- Assist with GST filing (if applicable) and ensure timely submissions to IRAS.
- Support annual financial audits and corporate tax filings.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Provide insights on cost management, budgeting, and cash flow optimization.
- Assist management with financial planning and ad-hoc reports.
Administrative Support:
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s accounting standards (SFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory for small businesses.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Knowledge of Singapore’s tax regulations (GST, Corporate Tax, IRAS filings).
- Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Payslip) and CPF contributions.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a small team with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
Experience:
- At least 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in SMEs or startups.
- Prior exposure to Singapore’s compliance requirements is highly valued.
