ATOP Academy Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a dedicated Literature teacher to deliver engaging lessons aligned with the MOE JC syllabus.

You will assess learning needs, tailor lesson plans, and guide students in close reading of poetry and drama to develop analytical writing and critical thinking. You will also help students interpret unseen texts, craft evidence-based arguments, and prepare for assessments while maintaining a positive, disciplined classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong knowledge of prose, poetry, drama, literary analysis, and essay-writing techniques.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.

• Mark assignments, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for school assessments and national examinations.
• Develop students' appreciation of literature, critical thinking, creativity, and analytical writing skills.
• Create a positive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students' academic progress.
• Develop teaching resources, text guides, lesson materials, and examination-practice activities.

Requirements

• GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Education, English Literature, English Language, or a related field.


• Excellent command of spoken and written English.


• Strong knowledge of prose, poetry, drama, literary analysis, and essay-writing techniques.


• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE JC Literature in English syllabus and assessment requirements.


• Ability to guide students in close reading, textual analysis, and evidence-based writing.


• Passion for literature and for teaching JC school students.


• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.


• Responsible, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.


• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.
