Job summary

The role requires 7+ years in architecture development with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, SOA, REST/SOAP, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of architecture development and backend integration.
• Proficient in Java/J2EE with Spring Boot expertise.
• Deep knowledge of SOA, microservices, RESTful and SOAP services.
• Hands-on with Java, Spring, testing (JUnit/Cucumber).
• Experience with Spring Cloud, API gateways, Swagger specs.
• Ability to deploy Java microservices on Kubernetes and secure APIs.

Job Summary

Design, develop, and implement scalable microservices-based distributed systems. Collaborate with technical experts to translate requirements into robust architectures, lead development of accelerators, and ensure secure, high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and implement large distributed systems using microservices architecture to meet performance, scalability, reliability, and availability goals
• Translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs for microservices and backend systems
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to gather and validate system requirements and ensure alignment with business needs
• Define and enforce best practices and standards for microservice development and implementation
• Identify and establish reusable implementation patterns to improve development efficiency and quality
• Lead the creation of accelerators and tools that enhance the quality and speed of deliverables
• Evaluate emerging industry technologies to inform service design decisions considering cost, portability, compatibility, and usability
• Adapt and optimize technologies, integrated platforms, and systems to fulfill customer and operational requirements effectively
• Continuously improve technology management and utilization to increase operational efficiency
• Identify design risks, propose alternative solutions, and recommend high-quality approaches to address technical challenges

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of technical experience in architecture development, backend system integration, and application development
• Proficient in Java/J2EE development with strong hands-on experience in Spring Boot framework
• Deep knowledge of SOA architecture, microservices design, RESTful and SOAP services development
• Skilled in core Java fundamentals (Java 8+), Spring, Spring Boot, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Cucumber
• Expertise in design patterns and clean code practices
• Hands-on experience developing Java microservices with RESTful APIs and SOAP services
• Experience designing and coding scalable microservices architectures
• Familiarity with middleware and messaging technologies including MQ, JMS, Kafka, and event-driven design patterns
• Experience with Spring Cloud and API management using API gateways
• Ability to write deployment pipelines for Java microservices on Kubernetes
• Proficient in creating and defining Swagger specifications for REST APIs and understanding REST principles and guidelines
• Knowledge of OAuth token-based authentication protocols
• Understanding of PCI compliance and security coding standards

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with MSSQL, data modeling, query development, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with business rule management systems or rules engines such as JBoss, JRules, JPBM, iLog, Drools
• Experience modeling business logic and automating processes using TIBCO Business Works and EMS messaging
• Experience migrating TIBCO services to Spring Boot microservices
• Background in Banking or Financial Services industry
