Job summary

PIVOT SEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking a Java Backend Engineer to build practical backend services, data-collection systems and automation tools to improve operations. This is an onsite role with exposure to production systems and close collaboration across the engineering team.

Responsibilities include designing web-scraping systems, developing robotic process automation scripts, and supporting production troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Java backend development experience.
• Proficient in Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka and Redis.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer to build practical backend services, data-collection systems and automation tools that improve business operations. This is a hands-on onsite role with exposure to production systems and close collaboration across the engineering team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop day-to-day business requirements.
• Design and implement web-scraping systems to collect data from websites.
• Develop robotic process automation scripts that improve operational efficiency.
• Support production troubleshooting, performance optimisation and system reliability.

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

• Fully bilingual in English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate fluently in Chinese in a professional environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong communication, learning agility, cross-team collaboration and execution.
• Comfortable working onsite near Orchard Road, Singapore.
• At least 1 year of Java backend development experience, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and common design patterns.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, SQL, Kafka and Redis.
• Ability to design maintainable backend services and troubleshoot production issues.

Good to Have

• Experience building web-scraping systems.
• Experience with robotic process automation tools or scripts.
