Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of banking or financial services project experience in BA/PMO/consulting.
• Japanese language proficiency to liaise with stakeholders and clients.
• Experience on large-scale system implementations, migrations or platform modernization.
• Strong knowledge of Payments, Cash Management or Transaction Banking.
• Proven ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies and governance materials.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and workshop management skills.

Project Manager / Business Analyst (Cash Management & Transaction Banking)

Role Overview:

Our client is a multinational consulting firm supporting large-scale banking transformation initiatives across the APAC region. This role will play a key part in the modernization of Cash Management and Transaction Banking platforms, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and regional counterparts. The successful candidate will contribute to business analysis, project governance, stakeholder management, and solution delivery activities within complex transformation programs. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the modernization of Cash Management and Transaction Banking platforms into scalable, next-generation solutions.
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, business processes, and functional specifications.
• Conduct current-state and target-state process assessments to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Drive business process optimization initiatives to improve transaction banking and cross-border banking operations.
• Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with business users, technology teams, vendors, and regional stakeholders.
• Perform gap analysis and support solution design to align business needs with project objectives.
• Collaborate with project teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Support project governance activities, including status reporting, milestone tracking, and documentation management.
• Monitor project progress and track dependencies across multiple workstreams.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate issue resolution activities and accelerate critical concerns when required.
• Manage stakeholder communications and maintain alignment across business, technology, and vendor teams.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test planning, defect management, and business sign-off activities.
• Assist with change management and implementation activities to support successful system and process adoption.
• Ensure project delivery is achieved within agreed scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Requirements:

[Must Have]

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting banking or financial services projects in Business Analysis, PMO, consulting, or related functions.
• Proficiency in Japanese to liaise and collaborate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders and clients.
• Experience supporting large-scale system implementation, migration, transformation, or platform modernization projects.
• Strong knowledge of Payments, Cash Management, Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, or related banking domains.
• Experience working with business users, technology teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders across regional or multi-country environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and workshop management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and stakeholder communications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and documentation skills, including preparation of presentations and governance materials using PowerPoint and Excel.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently within a fast-paced project environment.
• Ability to understand both business and technology workstreams and navigate complex stakeholder environments.

[Good to Have]

• Experience with Cash Management Systems (CMS), Transaction Banking transformation programs, payment modernization initiatives, or ISO 20022 migration projects.
• Familiarity with account reporting, liquidity management, cloud-based banking architectures, API integrations, middleware platforms, system migration, and data conversion projects.
• Experience supporting PMO functions, governance committees, steering committees, vendors, and system integrators in large-scale transformation programs.
• Experience working within Japanese corporate environments and supporting regional APAC banking projects.
