Job description

Job Title: Junior Cook / Cook Assistant

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with meal ingredient preparation, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and meats.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and cooking areas, following the 'clean as you go' approach for efficiency.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to hygiene standards.
  • Washing and storing cooking appliances, utensils, and dishes properly.
  • Organizing and storing food supplies correctly.
  • Contributing to kitchen and food safety standards.

Responsibilities and Duties: Senior Cook

  • Preparing and cooking various dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensuring timely, consistent, and visually appealing food presentation.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team for efficient workflow.
  • Communicating effectively with servers to fulfill customer orders promptly.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations.

Additional requirements include:

  • Food hygiene certificate (preferred, training provided if not possessed).
  • 1-2 years relevant experience for Senior Cook; relevant experience preferred but not required for Junior/Assistant Cook.
  • Secondary education or equivalent.
  • Good personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Experience with kitchen equipment and food hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Availability to work on weekends and public holidays.

Working Hours:

  • Off on Mondays.
  • 6 days/week, 44 hours, with split shifts: Tues to Sat (Lunch 10:10 am - 2:10 pm, Dinner 5:00 pm - 9:30/10:20 pm), Sunday (Lunch 10:10 am - 2:20 pm, Dinner 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm).
