Job summary

ENGIE is seeking a seasoned origination professional to capitalize on opportunities in Japan across energy, power derivatives, and green solutions. You will identify revenue, quote prices, and execute trades while building strong client relationships.

The role requires strong knowledge of energy trading, structured contracts, and financing arrangements, with English and Japanese fluency to coordinate with our Japan team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics with 3–5 years in trading/banking.
• Existing relationships with key energy/power players in Japan.
• Experience with global markets products, especially commodity derivatives for corporate clients.
• Proven origination success: development, negotiation and client management.
• Strong understanding of energy trading and structured contracts.
• Fluent in English and Japanese; able to work with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify revenue by originating transactions and opportunities with clients in Japan across energy & power derivatives and green solutions.
• Quote prices and execute trades with clients in various commodity products for clients in Japan.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service.
• Develop innovative ideas to assist clients in risk management in a fast-moving environment.
• Stay updated on industry news and market movements to provide timely insights to clients.
• Prepare concise presentations and reports, leveraging spreadsheet skills.
• Collaborate with KYC/Credit/Legal on onboarding processes.
