Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Systems Engineer to join our technology team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will hold a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification and possess hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, and supporting business-critical applications.
The successful candidate must be flexible and prepared to work irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to support project schedules and system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft-based servers, systems, and applications.
- Administer and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance and availability issues.
- Manage system upgrades, patching, and security hardening.
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, including incident response and root cause analysis.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MSSQL administration.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and system security best practices.
- Experience in virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper‑V) is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work irregular hours due to project or operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) to automate routine tasks.

- System Uptime & Availability – Maintain high system availability (e.g., >99.9%).
- Incident Resolution – Timely response and resolution of IT incidents.
- Database Performance – MSSQL performance and optimization standards met.
- Project Delivery – On‑time and quality completion of IT infrastructure projects.
- Compliance & Security – Adherence to IT policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing – Up‑to‑date documentation and handover of technical processes.
