Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

  • Provide IT support to office staff, assisting with the resolution of technical issues across systems to ensure smooth operations. This includes first-level telephone/email support for Desktop/Laptop, Mobile Devices (iPhone), Office Phones, AV Systems, and Projectors.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical assistance, product support, and service resolutions as needed.
  • Create and configure user accounts and email IDs for new employees and prepare/deploy IT equipment to onboard new hires.
  • Administer and maintain user email accounts and web servers, ensuring systems are up-to-date and fully operational.
  • Manage and maintain IT systems, servers, and networks, ensuring efficiency and reliability across all platforms.
  • Support backup and data recovery operations to ensure business continuity and safeguard critical data in case of system disruptions.
  • Follow security best practices to safeguard systems and contribute to the company’s cybersecurity efforts.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation and operational guidelines, ensuring clear, up-to-date records of processes and procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve day-to-day IT issues, minimizing disruptions and ensuring staff can work without delays.
  • Perform hands-on setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems and devices, ensuring smooth and efficient system performance.
  • Track and manage IT resources, supporting equipment procurement and ensuring all systems are well-equipped.
  • Perform network and connectivity tasks, maintaining cloud infrastructure, LAN configurations, and cabling to optimize system performance.
  • Support vessel system improvements, assisting with the implementation of new vessel accounting systems and streamlining processes for better operational efficiency.
  • Get involved with vessel communication systems, contributing to their maintenance and ensuring seamless connectivity for operational needs as you gain more experience.

Job Requirement:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network services, and security, preferably in the offshore or maritime industry.
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of network support , including Active Directory, Microsoft Windows environments (OS, Office Suite, Exchange, Office 365), and IT security practices (firewalls, antivirus, backup solutions).
  • Hands-on experience with desktop setup , software installation, LAN setups , cabling, cloud services , network troubleshooting, and server connectivity .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
  • Familiarity with maritime satellite communication systems (e.g., VSAT, FBB, Iridium) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving , and analytical skills , with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized , with strong attention to detail and a collaborative team player mindset.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for vessel IT inspections and provide technical support across multiple time zones, including outside regular business hours.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
