Job description

This role will be located in Singapore, working on-site at our office located at Expo (DT35/CG1) fully sheltered from the MRT.

JOB PURPOSE:

The prime responsibility of the role is to work within the Asia Pacific IT helpdesk arena offering front line IT support to the Asia Pacific user community and the Asia Pacific Distribution Centre.

The types of the IT support issue will vary and can be unpredictable, therefore, it is important to maintain a flexible approach and be able to handle a multitude of queries establishing the relevant priorities and needs of the internal customer base.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As Future Electronics has offices in the Asia Pacific arena, it is necessary to resolve IT issues over the phone and MS Teams wherever possible, and to utilize the remote access tools available.

Your duties will include the day-to-day support and maintenance of the wide various of IT systems and equipment installed in the Asia Pacific offices and the Asia Pacific Distribution Centre. Providing desk-bound IT hardware and software support to the users as and when required.

Logging helpdesk calls; responding to helpdesk emails; determining the level of response required; attempting first and second line helpdesk fixes where appropriate, and escalating problems to the third line team.

You would have a good general knowledge of IT and in understanding of problem determination and resolution strategies; and work to support internal staff also.

JOB CONTENT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY FUNCTIONS):

  • To be the first and second line of IT Support with regards to the IT systems: software, hardware, and peripherals to the Asia Pacific offices.

  • To be the first and second line of IT support with regards to the IT systems and equipment installed at the Asia Pacific Distribution Centre.

  • To answer helpdesk calls; logging of helpdesk calls; responding to helpdesk emails; determining the level of response required; and escalating problems where appropriate; providing desk-bound support as and when required.

  • Monitoring the critical IT equipment and daily data backup status in the Asia Pacific sites and escalate problems where appropriate.

  • To undertake the necessary installation of the IT hardware and software portfolios required by the company.

  • Liaising with providers & vendors for servicing, repairs, quotations, and purchase.

  • Evaluations of IT hardware and software.

  • Manage IT projects which include planning, scheduling, coordinating, and implementing.

  • Additional projects or duties as require by the management.

CREDENTIALS:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in IT and equivalent

  • Formal IT Training. Preferably with CCNA, MCSA, Microsoft Azure Certification.

EXPERIENCES

COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes)

  • Fully proficient in a number of computer packages including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows; Office 365; MS Outlook; MS Teams.

  • Able to manage PC configurations and set up efficiently and effectively.

  • Possess good understanding and experience in the LAN & WAN scope: Cisco routers; Network switches (Layer 2 and 3); Wireless; VPN.

  • Possess good understanding and experience in the Server scope: Windows Server; Microsoft Azure & Active Directory administration; Server Management.

  • Managing of Avaya phone system; PBX; Audio/Video system.

  • Highly organized, able to work under pressure and maintain extensive attention to detail.

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work under own initiative and as a member of the team.
