POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent will be the first point of contact for all technology-related needs within the company. You will be responsible for providing timely and friendly technical support, ensuring our team has the reliable tools they need to succeed. This role is crucial for maintaining a stable, secure, and efficient technology environment that supports our daily operations and long-term goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary End-User Support
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software applications, and operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources.
- Respond to, track, and resolve support requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
Systems & Security Maintenance
- Assist with routine system maintenance tasks, including data backups and restore, software updates, and security patching.
- Help maintain our cybersecurity defences by monitoring for and protecting against viruses, spam, and malware.
- Monitor IT systems health and performance, escalating issues as necessary.
Vendor & Asset Management
- Liaise with IT vendors and suppliers for procurement, project coordination, and technical support.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware, software licenses, and assets.
- Ensure vendor support contracts are up-to-date and meet business needs.
Additional Duties
- Provide basic support for the company intranet and assist with minor updates.
- Assist with the maintenance of internal databases under supervision.
- Be available for occasional emergency calls and planned weekend/off-hours support.
- Perform other ad-hoc IT-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NITEC or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, or IT field works.
- Proficiency with Windows OS and familiarity with iOS/Android mobile operating systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with PC and laptop hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused attitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications (plus point)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell) is a strong plus.
