Job description

Assist in the deployment and support of a heterogeneous global network security infrastructure comprised of multi-vendor firewall, VPN, web security and routing/switching technologies. Will be expected to support a broad range of projects, from enterprise-wide initiatives to localized solutions that may span across multiple departments or functions. Must be capable of interfacing with other IT groups or internal business units to gather requirements or present solutions that meet business objectives/initiatives. Should understand network and host-based security concepts and their practical application within Data Center, Campus or WAN environments. Perform upgrades, installations, enhancements, configuration changes, troubleshooting, monitoring, and other operational responsibilities. Adhere to corporate change management policies and practices and serve as liaison between service groups, customers and IT management to coordinate service impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large heterogeneous network environment

  • Understanding of security principles that span from network to application layers

  • In-depth and hands-on experience in network security technologies: Web-Proxies, CASB, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, VPN (SSL & IPsec), NAC (Network Access Control), Routing, Switching

  • Sound understanding and experience with protocols/technologies such as: IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, HTTP(S), TLS/SSL, IPsec, 802.1x

  • Experience installing and configuring traditional and next-gen firewalls: Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet

  • Experience configuring VPN solutions: Remote Access, P2P, SSLVPN

  • Experience with network services like DNS, DHCP, Radius, TACACS, SNMP, LDAP.

  • Knowledge of OT network and its difference with IT network

  • Working experience with Linux, Windows OS, and Shell/Python scripting

  • Experience with Syslog, Splunk, and security monitoring tools

  • Technically proficient in maintaining and operating network equipment and their associated services and applications

  • Experience troubleshooting issues while interacting with vendor technical support

  • Good team player with great verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills and detail oriented

  • Knowledgeable of network industry trends and todays IT security challenges

Basic Qualifications

  • Support day-to-day operations, such as: responding to support requests and troubleshooting service problems or outages

  • Plan, design, implement and support network based security services and tools across Qualcomm's global network

  • Support and manage multi-vendor firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, web proxy, and other network security technologies across physical or virtual environments

  • On-call responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain documentation

  • Good written and spoken English

  • Mandarin is a plus

Education Requirements

  • Preferred: Associate's, Computer Networks & Systems or equivalent experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor's, Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Certifications: CCSP, CCNP/CCIE Security, CISSP, GIAC or equivalent experience
