Responsible for providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for issues related to the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Financial Telecommunication) network and its applications, ensuring smooth and reliable financial transactions, preferably in payments, settlements and treasury operations.
Manage and resolve SWIFT-related incidents, including production issues, by collaborating with various stakeholders (users, development teams, vendors, infrastructure teams).
Provide second and third-line support for SWIFT applications and infrastructure, ensuring system stability and performance.
Monitor SWIFT transaction volumes and system performance, identifying potential issues and proactively addressing them.
Participate in on-call support rotations to ensure 24/7 availability for critical systems.
Strong understanding of SWIFT products, protocols, and messaging standards.
Additional responsibilities include MEPS+, CTS, NETS Inter-Bank Giro, EuroClear, CitiDirect, JP Morgan, MAS reporting system, Broadridge Data Control Reconciliation System, EasyAsset, etc.
Project Planning and Implementation
Responsible for implementing new applications and enhancement of existing applications for the user departments.
Performs systems analysis and user requirements study.
Perform project management, planning, monitoring, and user acceptance testing, ensuring the test results meet the users’ requirements.
Prepare project schedule and monitor progress.
Report project status on a regular basis.
Ensure projects are implemented within schedule and successfully.
System Design and Development
Perform system analysis and conduct user requirement gathering.
Prepare system definition and analysis paper.
Perform and assist users in system testing and implementation.
Ensure that all new projects/programs are managed in SDLC standards.
Develop and/or handle local system reports enhancements.
Liaise with Head Office and IT vendors on the support and maintenance of applications.
Create and maintain reports for the user departments using various query tools.
Documentation
Update and document program specifications.
Update, file, and monitor user enhancement requests.
Perform or assist program migration tasks from UAT to production environment.
Provide standby support during program migration performed by Head Office/vendors.
Apply fixes to systems according to vendor’s instructions.
Apply fixes to applications according to Head Office’s instructions.
Pending Item Management
Liaise with software vendors and Head Office on pending items such as error log and user request status.
Review problem status reports with users, vendors, and Head Office.
Perform first level support before sending error log to vendor/Head Office.
Install or upgrade new software releases or program fixes.
Ensure that user request forms are properly maintained.
Set up test environment for user acceptance testing.
Monitor that users sign off the system acceptance forms after testing.
Ensure software deliverables are met within agreed service level agreement.
User Support and System Maintenance
Support users on implementation of 3rd party application systems and subsequent post-implementation support.
Provide daily support on production systems, queries maintenance, and troubleshooting of production application modules, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Liaise with users on software problems, issues, and new requirements.
Liaise with software vendors on users reported problems and issues.
Monitor and manage vendors’ performance.
Security Administration
Enrolment of systems and application user profiles.
Ensure all user profiles are properly maintained.
Review audit violation and intruder logs.
Review user profiles maintenance reports.
Ensure that all files/programs/objects are secured in proper authority setting.
Compile and update the computer security policy and manuals.
Assist the head of department in reviewing the outstanding audit issues and implementing the security controls for audit compliance.
Operations Support and Disaster Recovery Testing
Support off-site system testing on a yearly basis.
Provide system recommendation and constraints during the pre-test DR meeting.
Review the test results and comment for recommendations.
Provide support to ensure the computer operations are running smoothly and reports generated are timely and accurate.
Assist in the organization of work-flow procedures for IT operations.
Train operations team to handle the follow-up procedures and to liaise with user departments to sign off the error fixes in the test systems.
Review the periodic logs and security reports; responsible for changing common systems parameters.
Others
Adhere to all compliance matters including anti-money laundering and compliance to banking and other regulatory requirements.
Adhere to rules and regulations imposed by the Bank.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of department or IT Applications Team Lead.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in SWIFT and its products such as Alliance Access, Basic Tracker, Payment Control System, and Alliance Lifeline.
