An established industry player is seeking a System Engineer to oversee IT systems' daily operations and maintenance. The System Engineer is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of IT systems for the company or client organizations. This includes managing servers, system software, hardware, and ensuring the environment is secure and functioning efficiently.
Systems & Hardware Oversight:
Manage and support multiple operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, SUSE, Ubuntu), Solaris, IBM AIX, and Oracle Linux.
Administer components like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Azure AD, storage (SAN/NAS), clustering, and virtualization tools.
Incident & Issue Resolution:
Triage and resolve system-related incidents based on urgency and SLA commitments.
Stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions to quickly resolve problems.
Follow defined processes for incident and problem management.
Documentation & Reporting:
Keep system documentation, SOPs, and operational checklists current.
Provide reports on system health, capacity usage, and incident trends.
Teamwork & Coordination:
Collaborate with vendors, ISPs, telecom providers, and other partners.
Assist in the onboarding and transition of IT systems and services.
Compliance & Development:
Comply with internal policies, security standards, and safety guidelines.
Continuously improve technical knowledge through training and development.
Education: Diploma in IT or a related discipline.
Experience: At least 3 years in system and hardware infrastructure management.
Certifications: ITIL and relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, RHCSA).
Skills:
Proficient in system and hardware technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Capable of both independent and team-based work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be flexible with shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required to be on standby and reachable 24/7 for support and emergencies.
