Role Overview
This is a global role overseeing the end-to-end mainframe estate at Hapag-Lloyd from a cost perspective. The role offers an opportunity to join a large organization undergoing transformation to a platform operating model, modernizing its application landscape. A strong analyst with experience in mainframe data analytics, operational excellence, and FinOps functions will find this role appealing.
Key Responsibilities
- Mainframe Cost Management & Optimization: Collaborate across teams to manage budgets, track spending, and identify cost savings. Monitor usage, investigate anomalies, and optimize resource utilization. Develop reports and KPIs for spend and performance. Implement cost optimization strategies and automate FinOps processes.
- Mainframe Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze spend data to derive insights, participate in business case development, and create cost frameworks. Partner with service providers and generate consumption reports to identify optimization opportunities.
- Mainframe Governance & Collaboration: Establish cost management practices, define KPIs, and implement governance strategies. Collaborate with IT, Finance, and external partners to drive cost savings. Build relationships and coordinate global initiatives.
Additional Details
Chennai has recently become one of three global IT hubs for Hapag-Lloyd, serving as the global IT operations hub. This role involves establishing the functional strategy for Run Efficiency and building capabilities in Chennai and other locations, including cost analytics, process excellence, automation, and license management.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage mainframe budgets, track spending, and identify reduction opportunities.
- Analyze utilization data to optimize capacity planning.
- Design reports and KPIs for spend and performance analysis.
- Develop and implement cost optimization strategies for software cycles and decommissioning.
- Automate FinOps processes and participate in business case and TCO analyses.
- Define and track run cost KPIs, and establish governance strategies.
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, and vendors to optimize costs and resource management standards.
