As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic IT Engineer/Manager to join our team and ensure that our IT infrastructure and systems support our operations, enabling us to maintain industry leadership.

The IT Engineer/Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems, infrastructure, and services within the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage the full scope of IT operations, ensuring seamless integration of technology into manufacturing, quality control, regulatory compliance, and business functions. The IT Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Manufacturing, and Compliance, to ensure the technology needs of the organization are met efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives. Ensure that the IT infrastructure supports operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems critical to manufacturing and business operations.

  • Manufacturing Systems Integration: Ensure that IT systems are fully integrated into the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and other critical systems.

  • Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Manage IT security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and systems. Implement best practices to protect against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external IT service providers and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Work with external consultants to address specific IT needs as required.

  • Project Management: Lead IT-related projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Manage resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations effectively.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide leadership in troubleshooting complex IT issues, ensuring that IT support is readily available for all critical systems. Oversee the resolution of any system-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all IT systems are compliant with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including but not limited to GMP, 21 CFR Part 11 (for electronic records), and any other relevant standards.

  • Budget and Cost Management: Manage the IT department's budget, ensuring the cost-effectiveness of IT solutions while maintaining high performance. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports to senior management on IT performance, system improvements, and any incidents or issues. Maintain detailed records of IT systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) is a plus.

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or regulated environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong knowledge of IT systems in a manufacturing setting, including ERP, MES, LIMS, and document management systems.

  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements related to IT in the pharmaceutical industry, including GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and other relevant standards.

  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network systems, and database management.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving IT initiatives.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex IT challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing, data analytics, and emerging technologies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space is a plus.
