Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Production Support Engineer to handle root cause analysis, monitor production issues, and engage in system performance documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Java, SQL, and UNIX, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2–4 years of experience in production support. This role includes on-call rotations and aims to improve production support processes.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Job Description

  • Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues (Linux VMs, Vendor Product, SFTP).
  • Work together with various teams to pinpoint and address production problems
  • Create and maintain documentation related to production issues and resolutions via JIRA.
  • Implement and maintain processes and procedures to improve production support.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance and issue status and deployments during silent hours.
  • Development work within the vendor product (about 10%-20% of time).
  • Strong technical skills in Java, SQL, UNIX, and scripting languages.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production issues after business hours.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Production Support or related role.
  • Ensure proper deployment and release of software updates & infrastructure patches/upgrades.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues efficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
