Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure in Singapore. You will monitor performance, implement security policies, and support banking systems across teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in a large enterprise or financial institution, Cisco routing/switching expertise, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. On-call rotations are included.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of network engineering experience in a large enterprise or financial institution.
  • Hands-on Cisco routing and switching experience; CCNA/CCNP preferred.
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, and other networking protocols.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience with load balancing solutions (F5 Big-IP) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, install, and troubleshoot network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi).
  • Monitor network performance, identify and resolve issues, and prevent outages.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation and procedures.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies to protect data and systems.
  • Participate in capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of banking systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal users on network issues.
  • Stay updated with networking technologies, trends, and security threats.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents outside business hours.

Job Requirements
