IT Disaster Recovery


The ITDR Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and governance of IT Disaster Recovery strategies to ensure the continuity of critical IT services that support insurance operations. This role oversees the development and execution of DR plans, coordinates DR testing and exercises, and ensures alignment with Business Continuity Management (BCM), compliance & regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS, Group), and industry best practices. The ITDR Manager collaborates with infrastructure, application, security, and business teams to ensure recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) are met, while continuously identifying areas for improvement in resilience and recovery capabilities

Job Description:

  • Manage Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity related activities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive ITDR strategies and documentation for both cloud and on-premises systems
  • Lead the planning and execution of disaster recovery tests in alignment with regulatory (e.g., MAS, Group) and internal compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with Business Continuity Management (BCM), Application Owners, and Infrastructure teams to define recovery priorities and objectives (RTO/RPO).
  • Assess and regularly update the recovery capabilities of critical applications, databases, and platforms used in insurance operations
  • Identify DR risks and gaps; implement improvements based on test outcomes and incident post-mortems
  • Monitor changes in regulatory guidelines and ensure DR policies and practices are up to date.
  • Report on ITDR readiness and performance metrics to senior management and auditors.
  • Manage vendor and third-party dependencies related to IT continuity.
  • Manage and review with BCM the BIA/CIA

Who we are looking for:

Technical Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in IT disaster recovery or IT continuity planning, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of hybrid IT environments (cloud + on-prem), backup/recovery tools, and DR automation
  • Familiar with MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management
  • Process and documentation orientated

Education:

  • Minimum degree in IT discipline, or equivalent IT experience
