Job description

As a Business Analyst, you’ll be a key player in transforming complex requirements into actionable plans and ensuring that systems are both technically sound and business aligned. You’ll work closely with business units and IT teams, translating evolving market and regulatory demands into real-world software features.

You will be responsible for the tools and systems that power trading, risk management, and regulatory operations. Domain touches everything from electronic trading platforms and market data management to cutting-edge innovations like AI, APIs, and cloud-native solutions. It’s a space where precision, speed, and innovation intersect—and where your work will directly influence mission-critical functions.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with stakeholders across business lines and technology teams to gather and clarify business requirements, ensuring alignment with broader strategic goals.

• Break down high-level requirements into detailed user stories and use cases in close collaboration with Product Owners and developers.

• Create functional designs, mapping user interactions, system behaviors, and data flows with clarity and precision.

• Offer domain expertise to development teams, ensuring deep understanding of user needs and operational workflows.

• Assess current internal and third-party solutions to identify reuse opportunities or integration paths.

• Participate in technical discussions, understand system architecture constraints, and ensure proposed solutions are feasible and sustainable.

• Lead functional validation efforts, conduct user scenario testing (BDD), and support production go-live readiness.

• Evaluate how changes may affect service agreements (SLAs/OLAs) and maintain high-quality standards throughout delivery.

• Help onboard new team members, provide guidance, and troubleshoot complex business-related issues.

• Coordinate with functional architects and IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless system integration and operational harmony.

• Contribute to deliverables including estimates, test scenarios, user documentation, and project planning inputs.

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within a financial institution, specifically in Market Data or Capital Markets domains.

• Strong knowledge of financial instruments including FX, Bonds, Interest Rates, and Equities, and a solid grasp of the full trade lifecycle.

• Demonstrated experience in handling static market data and data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).

• Solid hands-on skills with SQL and Excel; experience with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.

• Comfortable working with FPML and understanding of data schemas.

• Willingness to participate in L3 support activities as needed.

• Proven experience translating business needs into technical documentation and testable specifications.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to adapt your style for technical and non-technical audiences alike.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience working in multicultural teams and communicating across different cultures.

• Project management exposure or experience with delivery tracking tools (JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence).

• Familiarity with back-office systems like Calypso, front-office tools, or market risk systems.

• Comfort with tools like Visio, MS Project, GIT, or UML for modeling and documentation.

• Understanding of cloud technologies and modern architecture principles.

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming (e.g., Java or .NET) is a plus for collaborating with development teams.
