Job description

Job Description:

  • The IT Assistant Manager oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of all technology systems and infrastructure to ensure reliable support of the Company’s operations

  • Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, network connectivity (LAN/WAN/VPN) and site-based connectivity solutions, to ensure high availability across offices and construction sites

  • Lead the deployment and support of construction-specific systems (e.g., BIM/VDC/VR platforms, project management software, document controls, CCTVs) and integrate them with corporate systems where appropriate (e.g., ERP, HRMS, IFCA)

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day IT helpdesk operations with the team, providing prompt technical support and conducting relevant training for employees

  • Develop, implement and enforce IT policies, procedures and security controls (firewalls, endpoint protection, user access) to safeguard sensitive data

  • Plan and manage the IT budget, vendor contracts and service-level agreements for hardware, software (including licensing) and connectivity services

  • Future-proofing and evaluating emerging technologies (e.g., mobile field reporting, cloud collaboration tools) and recommend solutions that enhance project productivity and data accuracy

  • Oversee regular maintenance, data backup, disaster recovery planning and business continuity exercises to minimize downtime during system failures or cybersecurity incidents

  • Collaborate with project and departmental leaders to align IT initiatives with construction workflows, ensuring technology solutions support operational efficiency


Requirements:

  • Recognized degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field

  • Min 5 years of progressive experience. Prior experience in MNCs or construction/engineering environments would be an added advantage

  • Strong vendor management experience and project management

  • Network architecture and administration (Cisco, Fortinet, VPN, wireless)

  • Server and virtualization technologies (Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V)

  • Cybersecurity best practices and tools (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management)

  • Cloud services and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS fundamentals)

  • Disaster recovery planning, data backup solutions, and business continuity frameworks
