Job description

Overview

Our client, one of Asia-Pacific’s leading organizations, is looking for a IT Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to ensure all the applications systems remain in good working order.
• Take on support of new application systems when they become operational.
• Respond to production emergencies in a timely manner based on client's Service Levels. This includes bringing up the server (in a crash) or system processes, fixing problems or finding workarounds.
• Diligently perform routine checks and escalate to the Project Manager if any anomaly is detected. The candidate should show initiative to alert and troubleshoot together with other system engineers, database administrator (DBA) and outsourced vendors.
• Follow through every issue / problem to closure and complete the necessary documentation as required.
• Assist users and answer queries regarding the supported operational systems.
• Interface with helpdesk agents, end-users and external vendors during application support and problem resolution.
• Be on standby for support on weekends / public holidays. In the event of scheduled downtime or during a crash, the candidate is required to be in office during off-office-hours to support the systems.
• Aside from application support, make code changes/ enhancements that arise from service requests while following the technical standards and updating the necessary documentation.
• Report to the Project Manager in tracking and managing the project timelines and resources assigned.
• understudy and undertake the development of new applications and maintenance of existing systems as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as a team member among the system support and application development teams.

Requirements

• Possess at least a Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of working experience in the IT or Infocomm industry, with exposure to end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience with project implementation in Singapore is preferred.
• At least 5 years of JAVA development experience using JDK 1.7 and above.
• Experience and proficiency in designing, developing and maintaining web applications using Microsoft .NET and front-end technologies (i.e. ASP.NET, C#, HTML/DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery).
• At least one year of development experience on Linux/Apache/MySQL/Php/Perl (LAMP).
• Minimum 3 years of working experience with two or more of the following relational databases and proficiency in using SQL - MySQL, Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Amazon Aurora.
• At least 3 years of working experience in XSL and XML programming.
• At least 2 years of experience on web crawler development and support on Web Crawler, e.g. Heritrix Web Crawler, OpenWayBack, PythonWayBack.
• At least 2 years of experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and Ajax.
• Minimum one year experience in writing shell scripts to automate deployment and maintenance of the applications in standalone and cluster environments.
• Minimum one year experience on search engines, e.g. SOLR, CloudSearch, OpenSearch.
• Minimum one year working experience in one or more AWS services, such as: Lambda, SQS, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation, OpenSearch.
