The General Account Investment Team at Manulife is a dynamic and forward-thinking team; dedicated to delivering sustainable and superior risk-adjusted return with unique competitive edges. Our team manages a diverse portfolio across multiple asset classes, including public and private markets, alternative investments, and ESG-integrated strategies. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Investment Support & Governance Associate to support our investment team in transaction documentation, portfolio monitoring, compliance tracking, and investment reporting. Role Overview

As an Investment Support & Governance Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the investment team by managing transaction documentation, preparing investment reports, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal policies. You will also assist in handling capital calls, distributions, sustainability implementation into investment, and ESG data collection across our investment portfolio in Asia. This role offers broad exposure to various aspects of investment management, making it an exciting career opportunity for those looking to grow in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare detailed investment reports, presentations, and materials for committee meetings.
  • Maintain and update investment databases to ensure readiness for ad-hoc analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in monitoring portfolio performance, key investment metrics, and risk exposures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance reporting efficiency and data visualization.

Investment Transaction Documentation & Administration

  • Handle the end-to-end process of investment transaction documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of investment agreements, contracts, and supporting documents.
  • Assist in the processing of capital calls, distributions, and other alternative asset transactions.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, and operations teams to streamline documentation and approval processes.

Investment Monitoring & Compliance

  • Monitor investment limits, asset allocations, and exposures to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the team in responding to queries from regulator, internal and external auditors.
  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure seamless investment operations.
  • Stay updated on compliance and regulatory changes impacting investment activities.

ESG Data Collection & Implementation

  • Support the collection, validation, and reporting of ESG-related data across investment portfolios.
  • Assist in integrating ESG considerations into investment decision-making and reporting frameworks.
  • Keep track of emerging ESG trends, frameworks, and regulatory developments in Asia.
  • Support the team in ESG engagement with investee companies.
  • Conduct ESG research and support to the GA Asia’s ESG initiatives, including the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance ESG reporting processes.

Support Capital Management Strategy Implementation

  • Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to execute the firm’s capital management strategy.
  • Analyze capital allocation and optimize capital efficiency to support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory capital requirements and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and strategic decision-making.

General Investment Administration

  • Organize and maintain investment records, ensuring accuracy and easy accessibility.
  • Assist in scheduling investment-related meetings, coordinating agendas, and preparing minutes.
  • Support the investment team in daily administrative tasks to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvements as required.

What We Look For

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced investment environment. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in investment administration, asset management, or financial services.
  • Fresh graduate will also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, databases, and financial reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with investment processes, compliance regulations, and alternative asset management.
  • Knowledge of ESG principles and sustainability reporting (a plus but not mandatory).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working with investment documentation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and problem-solve.
