We currently manage a global portfolio of over £7 billion in renewable energy assets.

Our operational portfolio includes more than three hundred large-scale energy-generating companies. We take pride in our wind farms, solar power plants, and upcoming projects in energy storage and hydrogen. To support our growth and long-term ownership of energy assets, we are expanding our team.

We have started investing in Asia from 2023, and since the Singapore team has achieved significant milestones, managing various mandates involving projects in 5 countries. We are further looking to expand our investment base in the region rapidly.

This is a great opportunity for a senior professional with experience in deals related to solar, wind (onshore & offshore), energy storage, and other energy transition assets to join a fast-growing team based out of Tokyo or Singapore.

What you'll do

• Assist the Head of Investments (Asia) in developing and raising capital for the investment strategy in Asia, specifically in Japan.
• Originate and screen new investment opportunities in Asia, especially in Japan.
• Assist the Head of Investments (Asia) in managing our investment portfolio.
• Liaise with our HQ team in London on internal process matters.
• Mentor junior colleagues in Singapore and the UK.
• Represent Octopus Energy Generation at conferences and meetings with investors.

What you'll need

• PE / M&A / advisory experience in APAC with reputed institutions.
• Strong experience in deal screening and financial modelling.
• Extensive deal origination network within Asia.
• Fluency in English and business-level proficiency in Japanese.
• Understanding of renewables and/or infrastructure asset classes.
• Knowledge of investor preferences and ability to contribute technical & operational insights for innovative strategies is a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, financial acumen, and strong presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Japanese markets, including development, construction risk, and underwriting processes.
