Job description

Position Overview:

As an Analyst on our Energy Investment Banking team, you will play a critical role in executing transactions and providing financial advisory services for clients across Asia Pacific and on transactions around the world. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile deals, develop key relationships with clients, work cross-border transactions both within Asia and beyond, and be a critical part of the globally renowned Jefferies energy sector team, contributing to the growth and success of our investment banking franchise. An ideal candidate would have experience working on upstream / midstream / downstream oil and gas transactions, or demonstrate a strong interest to work in the hydrocarbon value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex financial analysis, valuation, and modeling to support deal execution
  • Manage due diligence processes, communications and interaction with deal team members, other advisors, clients and counterparties
  • Perform comprehensive and in-depth industry and market research, and company analysis within the energy industry
  • Collaborate with senior team members in deal origination, structuring, and negotiation
  • Support the execution of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and capital raising activities, and other financial transactions for energy sector clients
  • Assist in the preparation of pitch materials, presentations, and marketing materials for client meetings
  • Participate in external client interaction including pitches and marketing meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields, working on energy/upstream transactions
  • Solid understanding of the energy sector (E&P specifically)
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Well developed organizational skills in order to respond to shifting priorities across several simultaneous live projects
  • Regional language skills (Bahasa, Mandarin, Thai, etc.) a plus but not required
