Job summary

AVPN, a leading non-profit for impact investing in Asia, seeks an Associate Director to advance capital deployment and measurable outcomes across Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, sustainability, or a related field; Master’s degree or CFA preferred
• Six to nine years of experience in investments, finance, investment management, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience across the investment spectrum including investor education, deal sourcing, due diligence, and ESG or SDG-aligned strategy
• Familiarity with the investment landscape in Southeast Asia and/or Northeast Asia, with existing relationships with development finance institutions, multilaterals, or institutional investors in the region being a strong advantage
• Strong relationship management skills with ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders across investor, corporate, and civil society communities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex investment and sector information for diverse audiences
• Comfortable with CRM discipline and structured pipeline management
• International outlook and comfort working across cultures and geographies
• Deep alignment with AVPN’s mission and genuine conviction about the role of capital in driving social change

Responsibilities

• Drive investments engagement across the portfolio and build trusted relationships with AVPN members and stakeholders across the investment spectrum
• Develop a deep understanding of each stakeholder’s investment thesis, mandates, and strategic priorities, and position AVPN as a credible thought partner and connector
• Support members in advancing their investment goals, from education and strategy development to deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring
• Facilitate connections between social enterprises and global or Fortune 500 companies seeking ESG-compliant suppliers and partners
• Own client servicing and relationship management for Vantage members and prospective members in the region, ensuring engagement translates into renewed and upgraded membership
• Contribute to the implementation of AVPN’s investments strategy across key markets in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia
• Identify opportunities for new programming, partnerships, and member engagement in the region
• Represent AVPN at investment events, sector conferences, and ecosystem gatherings across Asia
• Maintain a current, well-organized resource hub of trends, data, and developments in investments relevant to AVPN stakeholders
• Provide members with timely intelligence on regulatory shifts, market developments, and emerging opportunities in the sector
• Raise awareness of the importance and value of investing, particularly in the context of ESG standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Collaborate with the Communications and Content team on investment thought leadership, reports, and member-facing materials
• Keep Salesforce up to date with accurate records of all relationship activities, pipeline stages, and member notes
• Participate actively in team reviews and contribute to pipeline and programme reporting
• Meet agreed targets for member engagement, programme participation, and portfolio growth
• Support the Director of Investments with operational and strategic planning as the practice scales

About this Role

AVPN’s Investments practice is experiencing rapid growth and seeking an Associate Director to serve as a core member of the team. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of capital deployment and social impact across Asia’s most dynamic markets. The Associate Director, Investments will be based in Singapore, Indonesia, or Hong Kong and will work under the Director of Investments to execute and scale the practice across Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
