The Smart Local in Singapore is seeking an Editorial intern to research, ideate, and pitch ideas to editors. You will craft perspectives, listicles, reviews, and news posts while maintaining the brand voice.

You will gather information, fact-check content, and write engaging, balanced articles. The internship runs for 24 weeks, with opportunities to attend media events and develop digital skills.

About the role:
We are seeking an Editorial intern who willprimarily be gathering information and research before ideating and pitching them to our editors.

You will get to write different types of articles such as perspectives, listicles, reviews, and news posts.

You must be able to commit to a minimum of 24-weeks (6 months) internship.

What you will do:

• Ideate and pitch high-quality long-form and short-form articles to editors
• Writearticles that aligns with the company’s brand and tone, including perspectives, listicles, reviews, and news posts
• Gather information, fact check, and write digestible articles in a compelling and balanced manner
• Assist with photo sourcing and market research to enhance articles
• May attend events, tastings, and other out-of-office work to support the creation of articles

The successful candidate should have:

• Possess or currently studying for a Diploma/Degree in Media/Communications Studies orequivalent
• Strong command of English and able to articulate points concisely and coherently when writing
• Versatile and able to write well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsPleasant and professional disposition, to represent the company professionally at all times
• Meticulous and good eye for content/trending topics
• Able to commit for a minimum of 24-weeks (6 months)internship
