Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Singapore is seeking an Executive Director in Data Strategy and Analytics to lead the architecture and delivery of scalable data platforms for Internal Audit. You will shape data solutions for the third line of defence, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards.

The role requires hands-on coding in Python and SQL, deep experience in data modelling, Snowflake, and modern data architectures, with collaboration across auditors, data owners and governance teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering or software engineering with technical leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering; Master preferred.
• Hands-on Python (Pandas, Polars, PySpark) and SQL across OLTP and data warehouses.
• Experience in data modelling, ETL/ELT design and scalable data architectures.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs to senior stakeholders and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Own solution architecture and delivery for scalable data platforms.
• Translate objectives into pragmatic data designs balancing speed, reuse, performance, security.
• Design data models for operational and analytical workloads including lakehouse patterns.
• Remain hands-on with Python and SQL, guiding implementations using Pandas/Polars/PySpark.
• Establish engineering standards for ETL/ELT, testing, observability and data quality.
• Lead use of Snowflake and relational platforms with performance considerations.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and inclusive culture.
• Build relationships with audit teams, data owners and governance functions.
