Job summary

MSD is seeking an Intern/Co-op in Singapore to develop and maintain digital tools for calibration, maintenance and inventory optimization within the local laboratory operations.

You will leverage data analytics and Power BI to analyze equipment performance and inventory needs, while gaining hands-on experience with cGMP practices and cross-functional collaboration. This fixed-term role starts with January 2027 intake and supports end-to-end inventory processes.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc in Science/Engineering or relevant major/minor in computing & data analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power App and Power BI).
  • Added advantage for candidates with programming language skills.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiastic.
  • Self-motivated and sense of responsibility.
  • Good interpersonal skills / Team Player.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain digital tools to improve calibration/maintenance and inventory management in Singapore laboratory operations.
  • Use data analytics to analyze and recommend improvements for equipment performance and inventory demand/supply.
  • End-to-end management of laboratory inventory including quotations, purchasing, receiving, storage, monitoring and disposal of chemicals and consumables.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory stores with 5S practices.
  • Ensure equipment calibration/maintenance release by due dates.
  • Learn and apply site contractor management requirements for laboratory vendors.
  • Coordinate logistics with laboratories and vendors for timely calibration/maintenance.
  • End-to-end management of archival, retrieval and disposal of pharmaceutical retain samples.
  • Practice Safety and cGMP according to site/global procedures and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify safety, quality and productivity improvements.
  • Develop, update and maintain Power BI and other data applications to improve processes.
  • Perform data analysis and present data to Quality leadership team.]

Job responsibility

  • Develop, implement and maintain digital tools to improve efficiency of equipment calibration/maintenance and inventory management process within Singapore laboratory operations.
  • Using data analytics concept/tools to analyse and recommend improvement for equipment performance and inventory demand and supply needs.
  • Participate in end-to-end management of laboratory inventory, including quotation request from vendors, purchasing, receiving and storage, inventory monitoring and disposal of used/expired chemicals and other laboratory consumables.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory stores with good 5S practices.
  • Understand laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance requirement and ensure release of equipment for use within the stipulated due date.
  • Learn and apply site contractor management requirement for laboratory vendors.
  • Actively participate in logistical arrangement with the laboratories and vendors to enable timely equipment calibration/maintenance.
  • Ensure end-to-end management of archival, retrieval and disposal of pharmaceutical retain samples.
  • Practice Safety and cGMP according to site/global procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Close collaboration with the stakeholders to identify and execute safety, quality and productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, update and maintain Power BI and any other computer applications to improve work processes.
  • Perform data analysis and present data to Quality leadership team.

Job Requirements
