What the role is:

This internship offers a meaningful experience for social science undergraduates keen to explore a career in the social service sector and child protection work.

What you will be working on:

Over 12 weeks, the intern will contribute to both process and systems work within RPG/PSV and knowledge management initiatives within RPG/SP (PSV) - gaining a well-rounded understanding of how protective operations are designed, communicated, and continuously improved.

What we are looking for:

• Analytical & Research Skills - Ability to review and synthesise information from multiple sources, particularly for the service delivery system review and identifying service gaps in PSV work
• Comfort with data analysis and Excel for quantitative aspects of the work
• Written Communication - Strong writing ability for SOP updates, EDM production, and communications materials
• Plain-language writing skills to translate complex processes and legal/policy content into accessible formats for different audiences
• Visual Communication - Basic design sensibility or experience with infographic tools to produce bite-sized visual communications for the PSV KM work
• Critical & Systems Thinking - Ability to map processes and workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements would be an advantage
• Capacity to see how individual tasks connect to broader organisational goals
• Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration - Interpersonal skills to work across divisions and engage with others
• Adaptability & Operational Readiness - Willingness to support contingency operations when needed, reflecting the crisis surge exposure component
