Job summary

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) invites interns to join the Equities, Capital Markets Development (CMD) and ESG teams to gain hands-on exposure to market research, data analysis, and sustainability reporting within Asia's leading exchange.

You will assist in data preparation, market updates, and content distribution while interacting with listed companies and internal business units. Mandarin would be a plus.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills with ability to interpret data.
• Strong English communication; Mandarin is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of investing and the stock market.

Responsibilities

• Assist data preparation/analysis and compile/write research reports.

Short overview of the Team

The CMD team within the Equities unit drives market development initiatives across three core pillars: Research & Content Distribution, Value Unlock Programme, and Sector Building. The team develops and promotes market research, supports shareholder value enhancement efforts among listed companies, and works with ecosystem partners to foster the growth of key sectors in Singapore’s equities market.

• Develop a good understanding of the local equities market and exchange business
• Analyse company and financial information, data analytics, sectors and economic trends
• Cultivate research skills such as writing reports and presentations/communication skills

Job Description

• Assist the CMD team in data preparation/analysis, compiling, writing and presenting research information in reports/presentations
• Preparation of market updates, investment-related reports, newsletters, presentation decks
• Content distribution across various retail and institutional platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Factset) and uploading of reports to the Research webpage
• Maintain databases of industry/economic data
• Analyse and assist team in internal tracking statistics, and manage distribution platforms
• Bring a highly valued fresh perspective to our team and will be encouraged to openly communicate and contribute to content direction and discussions
• Assist the CMD team on specific research projects

ESG

Short overview of the Team

The CMD team within the Equities unit focuses on Research & Content Distribution, Value Unlock Programme, and Sector Building to enhance market visibility, drive shareholder value, and support the growth of Singapore's equities ecosystem. In addition, the team is also responsible for driving sustainability reporting and adoption in collaboration with ecosystem partners. The team aims to support companies in their ESG disclosure journey by enabling companies to report metrics aligned with global standards and frameworks and ensuring regulatory compliance that meets investor needs for consistent and comparable ESG data.

What the intern can learn during the internship

• Develop a good understanding of the local equities market, exchange business, and ESG disclosure and reporting landscape
• Exposure to project management in ESG projects, project implementation and driving adoption of the use of the platform
• Opportunities to interact with management from listed companies and participate in capability building activities within the ESG ecosystem (e.training and support for stakeholders, outreach and education initiatives)

Job Description

• Support the team in ESG project management, driving implementation and adoption of the ESG Disclosure Platform, realizing downstream activities and KPIs.
• Work with the team on ESG capability building for the broader Singapore market through marketing, outreach and education initiatives.
• Organize events, webinars, forums for the ecosystem to promote the use of the platform and ESG metrics
• Creation of insights and dashboards for analytics
• Opportunities to work with the research team data preparation/analysis, compiling, writing research reports and presenting research information in reports/presentations
• Bring a highly valued fresh perspective to our team and will be encouraged to openly communicate and contribute to discussions
• Assist the research team on specific ESG and/or research projects
