Job summary

Marina Bay Sands in Singapore seeks a junior backend developer to join our tech team. You'll focus on Java and Spring Boot to build scalable backend services and support REST APIs and microservices architectures.

You'll work on event-driven integrations using Kafka and participate in SDLC activities with QA and DevOps teammates. Ideal candidates are full-time IT students with hands-on development experience and familiarity with Git and IDEs like STS, IntelliJ, or VSCode.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT related fields is expected.
• Applicant must be a full-time matriculated student.
• Hands-on development experience and solid understanding of requirements, design, coding, and testing.
• Experience with Java Spring Boot and Camel is preferred.
• Experience with Confluent Kafka and REST based APIs using JSON is desirable.
• Experience with RDBMS – MS SQL Server.
• Familiarity with version control systems – Git, GitHub or Azure DevOps.
• Proven hands-on experience in developing high-availability, multi-tiered and secure web applications.
• Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with IDEs – STS, IntelliJ, VSCode.
