Job summary

Jurong Port is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student in AI/ML, Data Science, or Computer Science to assist in exploring and deploying AI solutions across operations.

You will work on NLP, computer vision, and LLMs; participate in ETL tasks and PowerBI visualizations; gain hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, under mentorship from seasoned AI and data professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Applied AI/ML, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field (current undergraduate or graduate student preferred).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL or Java.
• Prior experience or coursework in data analytics and visualization is preferred.
• Foundation knowledge in AI frameworks such as TensorFlow/ PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers is preferred.
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI (OpenAI, LangChain), or deep learning will be a plus.
• Prior experience or coursework exposure to cloud services like Amazon Web services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, adaptable, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support vendor-managed projects and assessment of AI, Data models to meet business requirements (NLP, CV, LLM).
• Experiment and evaluate state-of-the-art and in-house AI models and agents; analyze performance.
• Collect user feedback to refine AI tool deployment and adoption strategies.
• Assist in conducting data and AI workshops/trainings for JP staff.
• Generate and implement data transformation (ETL), normalization, aggregation, and analytics in PowerBI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support vendor-managed projects and assessment of AI, Data (Big Data included) models to meet business requirements, in areas such as NLP, computer vision, chatbots and Large Language Models (LLM).
• Experiment and evaluate state-of-the-art and in-house generative AI models and AI agents, analyze performance, and iterate based on findings.
• Collect feedback from users to continuously refine AI tool deployment and adoption strategies.
• Assist in conducting data and AI workshops/ trainings to cultivate JP staffs in using analytical and AI tools for operations and planning.
• Generate and implement relevant codes for data transformation (ETL), normalisation, aggregation tasks, and related works on data visualisation and analytics in PowerBI.
