Job Purpose
The Interface Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing technical and execution interfaces among different project stakeholders (e.g., contractors, disciplines, vendors, and client teams) to ensure successful integration and delivery of the FPSO project. This role ensures that all interface points are identified, documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and manage all internal and external technical and execution interfaces for the FPSO project (topsides, hull, mooring, SURF, marine, operations, etc.).
- Maintain and update the Interface Register and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Facilitate regular interface meetings, ensuring proper communication and alignment between stakeholders.
- Liaise between engineering disciplines, vendors, subcontractors, and client teams to resolve interface issues.
- Monitor interface deliverables and ensure timely resolution of interface-related queries and requests.
- Ensure that interface requirements are incorporated into the design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Work with document control to track interface correspondence and documentation.
- Support risk assessments and ensure interface risks are identified and mitigated.
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and constructability reviews to address interface issues.
- Report interface status and critical issues to Interface Manager or Project Engineering Manager.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Naval Architecture, or related field).
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in oil & gas, preferably with at least 3 years on FPSO or large offshore projects.
- Previous experience in interface coordination, engineering, or systems integration roles.
Skills
- Strong understanding of offshore engineering disciplines and interfaces.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and MS Office suite.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, DNV, ABS, etc.).
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
