MHA - Internal Security Department (ISD) in Singapore is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to manage information and threats to national security. The role demands processing varied intelligence to develop solid insights and actionable outcomes, with responsibilities spanning operational, strategic, and policy analysis aimed at safeguarding Singapore’s stability.
Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in security issues. A degree in any discipline is required, and communication skills are essential.
ISD confronts and addresses threats to Singapore’s internal security and stability. For over 75 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists. A fulfilling and rewarding career awaits those who want to join in ISD’s critical mission of keeping Singapore safe, secure and sovereign for all Singaporeans.
The Intelligence Analyst has to process information gathered through a variety of sources (e.g. open source reporting, investigations, etc.), synthesising and crystallising these into timely, useful and actionable intelligence. A core part of an Intelligence Analyst’s work is sense‑making. You will have to make sense and paint a coherent picture of developments which are at times complex and conflicting, identify information gaps, assess security implications and anticipate developing threats. As an Intelligence Analyst, you will undertake different aspects of analysis, such as operational analysis, strategic analysis and policy analysis. In operational analysis, you will provide support for investigations to neutralise security threats. You will also be involved in strategic analysis, which entails broader and longer‑term monitoring of trends to identify threats and make sound security assessments. In policy analysis, you will examine policies that have an impact on internal security, to provide an accurate assessment of implications and make recommendations on how best to safeguard Singapore’s security interests. Given the complex and rapidly‑evolving security terrain, your work will be fast‑paced, challenging and stimulating.
We wish to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
