Job summary

Stripe's APAC Payments TechOps team is based in Singapore. We seek engineers to own end-to-end projects, collaborating with peers and cross-functional partners to deliver durable, scalable payment solutions. You’ll launch betas and prototypes to ensure we build what users want.

You’ll gain experience across coding, design reviews, and systems that scale, while leveraging AI tooling and strong written communication. This role is office-based with regional flexibility in alignment with team needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience with no more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship).
• Experience with programming in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.
• Experience from internships or multi-person coding projects (university or professional).
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and work with mentors or experts.
• Clear written communication skills to explain your work to stakeholders and teammates.

About The Team

APAC Payments TechOps is a team based in Singapore. Our charter is to improve the health and resilience of our payment acquiring volume, making it easier for Stripe to build and operate the integrations that support hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually. Our team partners closely with payments and platform engineering teams to assess systems or processes that create high operational workloads, then develops durable solutions via code, tooling, data, and process improvements. We are responsible for the financial data quality of key systems at Stripe, ensuring that data is quarantined without impacting downstream systems while implementing the right changes upstream to prevent recurring issues.

While they don't necessarily have to do all the work themselves, it's their job to make sure all the work gets done. We launch betas and prototypes as early as we can. This helps ensure that we're building what users actually want.

• Build the skills to own a project, and eventually an entire domain, from beginning to end, learning project management and technical leadership skills.
• Learn quickly by asking great questions, working with your intern manager and teammates effectively, communicating the status of your work clearly, and building with the latest AI tooling.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience with no more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship).
• Experience and familiarity with programming, either through side projects or classwork. We work mostly in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go. We believe new programming languages can be learned if the fundamentals and general knowledge are present.
• Experience from either previous internships or working collaboratively on multi-person coding projects (in a university or professional setting).
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems, through independent research and working with a mentor or subject matter experts.
• Clear written communication skills, with the ability to explain your work to stakeholders, team members, and other Stripes.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more areas of specialized knowledge (frontend, backend, infrastructure or other technologies) balanced with general skills and knowledge.
• Experience in code review practices, and an understanding of how to safely update production systems.
• Familiarity with navigating and managing work in large code bases.
• Experience leading small projects independently, and contributing to larger projects alongside peers.
• Ability to operate with high agency in navigating complex technical obstacles independently, knowing precisely when to unblock oneself and when to ask for help.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is SGD 81,600 - SGD 122,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (OTE) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
