Job description

Overview of job:

Communication Managers are responsible for analysing data, thinking creatively, and dreaming up innovative strategies to ensure marketing campaigns reach the right target audience in the most effective way possible; and leading his/her team to manage the portfolio of advertisers.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide strategic planning & insights, managing all aspects of campaigns and day-to-day requirements of accounts
  • Be responsible for the overall planning & implementation from briefing through reporting
  • Develop and build strong working relationships with internal teams
  • Responsible for mentoring, training, and team building
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Work with the Business Director in creating media plans, strategically and efficiently
  • Work with the Business Director in setting overall direction for program planning and negotiating strategies
  • Initiate creative and business-building ideas
  • Oversee plan negotiations and media team activities
  • Maintain status reports to ensure efficient workflow in order to meet deadlines and write reports of key meetings
  • Lead internal meetings with other departments and call on agency resources to strengthen ideas
  • Build a comprehensive media knowledge base and synthesizes the information into ideas
  • Staff supervision, training, and development as well as serving as a positive role model with a hard work ethic and vigorously reviewing all work to ensure high quality standard
  • Writing and presenting presentations
  • Keep consistent track of campaign performance and target (monthly) across all channels, flagging needs for intervention
  • Use understanding of campaign and marketplace to contribute ideas for campaign experiments and also prioritise experiments contributed by other team members
  • Use understanding of campaign performance to contribute content to campaign wrap-up presentations
  • Manage accurate forecasts, media plans, and all key media planning documentation
  • Participate and/or lead in business development and pitches

What you will need:

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in media or digital media and brand planning, advertising, marketing, with at least 1 year experience in people/team management
  • Proven track record on the execution and development of media and digital strategies for clients
  • Working knowledge and effective vocabulary across search, social, display, video, branding campaigns and programmatic media buying
  • Ability to provide and meet forecasts of expected return of media investment
  • Strong leadership and Strategic Thinker
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • Detail oriented and responsive, deadline-driven with strong reasoning skills
  • Proven problem solving skills and ability to think outside of the box
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong negotiating skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong relationship building skills which include maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
  • Ability to effectively utilise media research and reporting resources
  • Experience with Media Research, Planning & Platform Tools (Nielsen, GWI, GA/AA, Google, Meta)
  • Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
