We are seeking a candidate with experience in the insurance industry, particularly for transportation, property, or credit insurance, who is familiar with the commodity trading sector. A background in non-ferrous metal insurance will be considered a plus.
In this role, you’ll leverage Singapore’s robust insurance market and its extensive network of insurance companies and brokers. You'll focus on developing and aligning international insurance resources for freight, property, and credit coverage, while enhancing and complementing the company's existing insurance programs. Your work will directly support the company’s commodity trading operations and associated risks.
Responsibilities:
International Insurance Market Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with key international insurance providers and brokers.
- Stay on top of market trends and analyze insurance solutions, including freight, property, and credit insurance.
- Continuously monitor global developments in the insurance space.
Insurance Planning and Implementation:
- Create tailored insurance programs (freight, warehousing, credit) to address risks in the company's commodity trading and mining operations, particularly in cargo and counterparty management.
- Enhance and optimize the company’s existing insurance programs using global resources.
Insurance Contract Management:
- Review and negotiate insurance contract terms and conditions.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage the renewal process for insurance agreements.
Claims Management:
- Oversee the submission, tracking, and resolution of insurance claims.
- Other tasks as assigned by the department.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on transportation, property, or credit insurance. Experience in commodity trading insurance is highly preferred.
- Relevant qualifications or international certifications (e.g., CPCU, CII).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with office software, data analysis, and report writing.
- Familiarity with international insurance market operations, regulations, and trends; knowledge of key institutions, brokers, and products (freight, property, credit).
- A solid understanding of commodity trading dynamics, risk assessment, and management, with the ability to design insurance programs tailored to business needs.
- Proven expertise in risk mitigation and awareness.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to interact with both English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
