Job summary

Arcadis Global Group in Singapore is seeking an experienced I&C Design Engineer to join our APAC Regional and Global Semiconductor projects. The role involves design and construction support for I&C, LSS, telecoms equipment, and plant management, with travel to client sites as needed.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team, progressing instrument and control design from concept to construction documents, coordinating with vendors and other disciplines, and ensuring high-quality

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in I&C design and related engineering in industrial/advanced technology sectors.
  • Semiconductor or large-scale industrial experience preferred.
  • Proficient in electrical system design, codes, and wiring regulations.
  • Strong English written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

  • Progress design for Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems.
  • Prepare engineering studies and schematics and coordinate with senior team members.
  • Develop SOO with other system owners.
  • Update P&IDs and produce instrument lists and datasheets.
  • Produce control system philosophy with input from other disciplines.
  • Provide technical backup to operations design teams.
  • Use CAD/engineering software to prepare design documents.

What are we looking for?

Arcadis has an excellent opportunity for experienced I&C Design Engineer this challenging position involves working as part of a multi-disciplined, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects in advanced technology facilities tool install. Projects for our clients include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast-paced environment of our clients’ sites.

The I&C Design Engineer role is to provide engineering support in design and construction of the I&C, Life Safety Systems (LSS) and telecoms equipment, plant, and factory management and distribution system.

This position will support our APAC Regional and Global Semiconductor projects based out of our Singapore office and travel to or station at our client project site on need basis.

Job Scope:
  • Responsible for progressing and controlling the design for Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems.
  • Execute concept designs and preliminary engineering phases with other senior team members.
  • Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyzes operation of existing systems.
  • Ability to progress the sequence of operation (SOO) development with other systems owners.
  • Assist in the development of department systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management.
  • Develop, organize and control systems, innovate and deliver plant improvements for the Engineering team and for our clients.
  • Provide and progress plant design activities as an area/system promoter and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
  • Perform I&C design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
  • Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Size and specify instruments and produce datasheets and instrument lists and cable schedules.
  • Update P&IDs with controls content.
  • Produce control system philosophy with input from other disciplines as required.
  • Provide technical backup to the operations design teams in resolving specific complex process/plant problems.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Job Requirements:
  • 7+ years’ experience with Third level degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Semiconductor experience preferable, large scale industrial, instrument selection/sizing, automation platforms, chemical delivery systems.
  • General knowledge of electrical system design, applicable codes and wiring regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel).
  • Strong relevant engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sector.
  • Engineering/ design experience in I&C systems
  • Excellent English level - written and spoken,
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
  • Experience with MCC and VFD control requirements.
  • Familiarity and understanding of ATEX requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
