Instrumentation and Control Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer to support our product and application initiatives, playing a crucial role in customer engagement and project management. The ideal candidate will be involved in various stages of product development and customer support, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with sales strategies. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Job Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Support
· Product and Application Presentation: Assist in the preparation and delivery of product presentations to potential and existing customers.
· Technical Support to Sales Team: Collaborate with sales to identify potential issues and provide technical insights during customer interactions.
· On-site Commissioning and Troubleshooting: Conduct on-site system commissioning, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide servicing support.
Project Management
Participation in Special Projects: Engage in brainstorming sessions and support the implementation of special projects.
Project Management Involvement: Contribute to project management tasks including costing, Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, and scheduling.
BOM Finalization: Finalize BOM details and create entries in SAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Engineering Drawings and Specifications: Prepare routine engineering drawings and specifications as needed.
System Preparation and Configuration
System Trials: Prepare and build systems for trial purposes at customer sites.
Project/System Configuration: Coordinate the configuration of systems to meet customer requirements.
Product Development and Improvement
Programming and Pre-setting: Program and preset products before delivery, ensuring thorough documentation and archiving.
Standard System Solutions Development: Develop standard system solutions that enhance cross-selling opportunities.
Training and Communication
Training Support: Communicate new product launches and provide training to relevant stakeholders.
Demo Unit Setup: Prepare demo units for training sessions and exhibitions.
Continuous Improvement
Engineering Knowledge Enhancement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices to support the order-winning team.
Support Sales Directives & Tactics Implementation: Assist in the execution of sales directives and tactics as assigned by the team coach.
Additional Responsibilities
Back-up for Assembly: Provide support as needed for assembly tasks.
Other Duties as Assigned: Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the team coach.
Requirement
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related field)
· Experience in engineering design software or PLC
· Experience with system configuration and technical troubleshooting
· Good verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members
· Ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
